Fairies on Scooters

Last night Emma and Lauren wanted to wear their Fairy dresses outside to play after dinner. I thought they both looked cute while riding their scooters. -Bill

Wagon rides

Lauren and Emma were playing with the neighborhood kids last night and I turned around and saw them all trying to get in the wagon. It worked for about 5 minutes and then they got a little cramped. -Bill

Fishing in the parking lot

This weekend we went to the local "fishing hole" to try and catch some catfish. HEB was having a event and the fishing was free. We were unlucky even with about 100 fish in the "pond". Maybe next time. -Bill

A new dinner idea?

I was making fried rice for dinner tonight, and we always make an extra scrambled egg for Lauren in a separate pan. I grabbed the can of Pam spray to cover the egg pan, and the cap is so difficult to remove. I yanked the cap off and it sprayed me right in the face! Lauren was standing there and said "Oh no, now we're going to have to cook you!". I couldn't stop laughing.

Lauren's School Work

Lauren's teacher brought this drawing to me, wanting to explain to me how Lauren described it to her. She said Lauren pointed to each of the people, indicating that Emma and Lauren were the two on the outside, and the two in the middle were Mommy and Daddy. Her teacher asked why they were close, and Lauren said "Mommy and Daddy love each other, and they like to cuddle".

Mesmerized by SpongeBob

I knew the girls liked SpongeBob, but I could not get their attention at all to take a picture of them inside their sleeping bags. The wonder of SpongeBob!

The I Spy Game Goes International

Lauren and I went for her 6 month check-up this morning to her Ear specialist, to see if the remaining tube had finally worked itself out. It had not, but that's not the story. As we were sitting in the patient room, Lauren started up a game of I Spy. Her rule though was that we had to play it using only colors in Spanish. The problem...Lauren knows way more Spanish than I do, and even if she made up a word, I wouldn't have any idea if she was right or wrong! She is so competitive, and I swear she made the rule up just so she would win for sure! She made me look for things in azul, rojo, verde, blanco, and negro.

She did great at the doctor and picked an Ariel sticker to show all her friends at school.

Playing in the rain

It finally rained in Austin after about fifty 100 degree days. Our grass is very happy. The rain came quick and we were outside on the porch watching it because we forgot what rain looks like. Lauren decided to go run in the rain and we caught some of it on video. - Bill

Port Aransas pt 3.

We spent some more time at the beach in the afternoon and then after we cleaned up we went down by the marina for dinner. We were lucky enough to be there when the boats were coming in. The girls loved looking at all the fish.

We finally wore them out. Hopefully they will sleep in? I can hope can't I. -Bill

Port Aransas pt. 2

It is Friday afternoon and we are taking a break from the beach. We woke up and after breakfast headed to the beach for about 3 hours. We just ate lunch and Emma and Jessica are taking naps. Here are some pictures. After they wake up we will head to the beach again for a few hours and then we are going to concert in a park after dinner. -Bill

Port Aransas

We are on vacation in Port Aransas. Just got in today around 2:00 and we headed right to the beach. The girls had a great day building and knocking down sand castles and swimming. They are also excited that they got to sleep in the same room for the first time.

No more diapers?

Not yet but she is getting closer. This is a picture of her on Sunday. She was very excited to get rid of the diaper and finally get to wear panties even if it was only for 30 minutes at a time. Today at school she kept her diaper dry and went to the bathroom in the potty all day. -Bill

1st Day of School

The girls are off this morning to their new school. We hung around with them for a while, but they were really ready to start this new adventure. Not a cry or request to stay a little longer (which made mommy want to cry a little). But, I could not be prouder of them both for their independence and desire to venture out and lead at their new school. Lauren was overjoyed to see a table of "little things" (aka leggos) and found a friend to play leggos with her. They were creating a jail when I was leaving... Emma was playing with trains, put her items in her cubby, and was eating crackers when we left. They're going to do great!

New School - Open House

Friday after I picked up the girls from their last day we went to their new school for a open house. We played there for about 3 hours and tasted some of the items that will be on the lunch menu. Here are a few pictures of the school.

The Train

Today is the girls' last day at their school. I have been taking them to the school for almost 4 years (well for Lauren) and this is the first time that we had to stop for a train. The girls were very excited!! - Bill
