What is missing from this picture below? A Crib, a Dresser and a Rocking Chair. We finally got rid of all the baby furniture with a little help from craigslist. We got full asking price for all 3 and the money will be used to get a desk to convert the room into its intended use, an office. - Bill

Making it Official
I signed up for a half-marathon today. That's right, 13.1 miles of running. I am not a runner, but I've lived in Austin now for 7 years and have seen many friends sign up, do it, and live to tell their tales. Most now have run other races, and some have even jumped up to the big leagues (yes, Patty S, I'm talking about you!). I say there is no better time. So, I printed out the training schedule, counted back 12 weeks from race day and realized I didn't have to start training until the first of November :-) I started today - ran 3 miles. Took me 36:30 minutes to do so, but I did it. This is my posting to the world, so I stay committed, and have someone to encourage me when I have the urge to quit. I'll keep you posted on progress. Now I have to go buy new shoes and some cute outfits :-)

Lunch and New shoes
After Church today we went to Maudie's for some Tex-Mex. As you can see below Emma really liked the chips. After lunch we went to the Mall to get the girls some new shoes. We learned that despite the girls being 25 months apart they both wear the same size. Lauren is a 9 and Emma is a 9 wide. - Bill

Well Checks...
I decided to book the girls' 4 and 2 year well checks at the same time this past Friday. They did great. Lauren received four shots, two in each arm. Emma and I went in the hall for that while Bill stayed in the room with Lauren. Then, Emma got her one shot in the arm.
What totally surprised me were their stats. Lauren is an impressive 41" (3', 5") and svelte at 34 lbs. Emma is super tall for her age at 36", and keeping with her true form, weighed in at 36 lbs! She weighs more than Lauren :-)
The doctor actually recommended we put Emma on a "diet". I tried not to laugh. I mean, come on, she's 2. It is not like we are eating Big Macs 5 days a week. I really had to think hard on where we introduce fat into her diet on a regular basis. Her 3 glasses of milk a day was the only item with higher fat content, so I switched her to skim milk (yuck). I'd also take this more seriously if her height to weight proportion was out of whack. Bill was really big as a baby and you'd never guess looking at him now. Emma is just taking after him!

Bill's new obsession
Bill finally received his iPhone yesterday. I haven't seen him look up from it since :-) Just kidding. Bill rarely wants anything, so when he gets very excited about a "toy", I don't put up a big fuss about him getting it. He prepped by converting all his online music to Apple's unique iTunes format, and then spent last night filling his phone with songs. The screen is a touchpad that zooms in and out by moving your fingers across the screen. To unlock the phone, you have to move the virtual bar from left to right on the screen itself. Bill handed the phone to Lauren this morning and within 10 seconds she had unlocked the phone. The girls had a dance party during breakfast and thought it was the coolest.

Emma's Big Girl Room

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!
Emma is 2!! Every morning Bill asks the girls what they want for breakfast, and Emma always says pancakes. Today was no exception, and Bill was going to make Emma Mickey Mouse pancakes with jelly (Emma likes jelly instead of syrup), but we had no eggs :-( So instead, they had Eggo waffles with jelly.
Emma's big girl furniture is slated to arrive sometime today! Her mattress comes tonight and we'll get everything set up for her to sleep up there this weekend. Lauren is so excited to have Emma come upstairs. She is already planning sleep-overs in each other's rooms.
Tonight the plan is to eat at Rudy's. What Texas birthday is complete without some good old BBQ?!? Then we'll come home and Emma can open her presents and eat cake (it's a SpongeBob Squarepants cake!)...pictures to come.
