Going Batty

Lauren's first field trip for kindergarten was going to see the bats fly out from under the Congress Ave bridge last Friday. She had been learning about bats all week, and the last lesson was to see them in action coming out at dusk. We really had a fun time and made an entire evening of it. We drove downtown after dinner and ate at Threadgill's with one of Lauren's classmates and his family. The restaurant is about 2 blocks from the bridge, so after dinner we walked over and found a spot on the grass underneath the bridge. Lauren found her other classmates and they ran around acting like bats.
We are on our way...Lauren has her bat mask.
Cool bat sculpture - it spins with the wind.
