The Jessica Tree

When I was in junior high, I went to an Earth Day event where a local Christmas tree farm handed out seedlings, which were nothing more than a root ball and one single spruce limb. I planted it against my parents' house not thinking it'd make it, but it loved the location and began to take off. A few years later, my dad transplanted it into the middle of the yard and that is where it stands today. As a reference to size, the white picket fences are approximately 6ft. This week's blizzard like conditions in Michigan really make the tree look spectacular.

Wow! That's an awesome story and a beautiful tree. My jaw dropped when I saw the amount of snow. I'd seen the winter storm report on the news but that's amazing.

The storm total at this time is about 12 inches with yet another 8-10 inches predicted through Thursday. Right now, a blizzard is raging. Winds are howling 25-35 mph with snow, near zero visibility, and temps hovering about 18 degrees. Lovely weather...can't wait to get to TX later in January!
