My Wii Injury

I tend to have the most random foot injuries, and this one takes the cake. Bill purchased a Wii this weekend, so Saturday night we played tennis, bowling, and boxing. As we played, I got more into it and animated in my movements, thinking the more I moved and swung my arms, the better my Mii would play. No to the better playing but yes to a busted sesamoid bone in my right foot. I was so into my tennis serve that I landed funny on the hardwood floor and thought I just jammed my big toe. I put on a pair of heels this morning and thought I was going to die. 4 x-rays later and I've got the most ridiculous fractured bone due to a video game?!?

Mother's Day Tea with Lauren

Today was Lauren's turn to host me at her school for Mother's Day Tea. We spent time in her classroom coloring the US map. She would draw a line dividing the state in half so that we'd each have a section to color. It was very fun. After that, we went into the common area and ate our brunch and had tea/orange juice. We had a fun table of girls and moms.

Weekend Update

We had another pretty busy weekend and you will find that they all will consist of outdoor activities in the morning (not as hot), then pool or boat in the afternoon. Repeat until October.

Friday after work we all went to the pool for 2 hours and then had a late dinner.

Saturday morning I took the girls to the park, on the golf cart, while Jessica did some yardwork. In the afternoon we went out on the boat. Jessica and Emma finally went in the water. The water was a little cold (74) but should warm up soon to the 80's. We left the boat around 6:00 and then went to Carlos and Charlies for Dinner.

Sunday morning we went to Church and then Jessica had the great idea of putting new mulch in the front of the house. I didn't realize that we were going to remove the old mulch because we have never done that before. That was not fun... At least it looks nice. In the afternoon we went to the pool and stayed until dinnertime. We went to Chuy's for Mothers day and then went home and crashed from a busy weekend. -Bill

Mother's Day Tea with Emma

Today Emma's school class hosted a Mother's Day tea. I spent time with Emma on the playground, in the classroom where she showed me all her work, and finally going into the common area to have tea and sandwiches. It was so fun. Emma mainly worked on all water-related material, and she really liked pouring my tea for me.

Lauren's Registered for Kindergarten

I've been anticipating this day for some time when I would be signing Lauren up for kindergarten, but I did not anticipate it being so emotional for me. I found myself getting choked up after leaving with my kinder prep kit folder...thinking about her walking into a school of 400+ kids, navigating the halls with 5th graders, and figuring out how to get to the YMCA program in the gym after school. When did time decide to fly by where Lauren is old enough for kindergarten? If I'm this moved by just signing her up, I'm going to be a complete wreck on the first day.
Her school will be brand new and is being built as I type. It will be ready come August 24th, but the paint may still be wet on the walls. Here is a picture of it from the community pool. It is probably the size of my old high school.

We don't get that many comments but would welcome more.

Thanks for Visiting. -Bill

Waterfest 2009

Jessica had another Spa morning on Saturday so I took the girls to Waterfest. It was put on by our local water department to promote water conservation. We stayed for about 2 hours and had a great time. They bounced in a moonwalk, ate free Rudy's, played games, did bubbles, ate a free snowcone and popcorn, met fire fighters. When we were playing on the construction equipment Lauren kept asking "Daddy are you sure this is safe?" I told her only today. She told me she just pushed a button and we better go before something happens. -Bill
